Meet Our Founder
Coach Mark McCarroll
Born and raised in Jamaica, Queens, Mark McCarroll is a proud product of Christ the King High School, one of NYC’s most prestigious basketball programs. He earned a scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh, helping lead the Panthers to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and joining the program’s most winning class in history.
After a professional career overseas in Finland, France, Sweden, and beyond, a career-shifting injury gave Mark time to reflect—and friends encouraged him to lean into what came naturally: mentoring and developing young athletes.
Mark has coached with respected programs including NY Rens, Basketball Stars NY, Fastbreak Sports, Christ the King, and Dwight School. In 2021, he founded Creative Arts & Sports (C.A.S.) to build a youth basketball program rooted in heart, integrity, and purpose.
Today, under Mark’s leadership, C.A.S. serves boys and girls in grades K–10 across NYC, offering leagues, classes, travel teams, and camps. His passion is helping young players grow not just as athletes, but as confident, disciplined, and inspired individuals.
Fun Fact: Mark’s love for basketball goes beyond the court—he’s dedicated to creating a community where every child can thrive, make friends, and feel at home while playing the game they love.

As a parent, I’m thrilled with this program because my son gets to be around his friends while learning to play and improve. Mark is fantastic, and my kid always comes home happy.
It was a positive, community like experience that I tell
everyone about!
